Introduction
Tagcose stands for The Aggregate Community Server. This project is just getting started.
Tagcose is a collection of virtual machines (aka appliances) that operate in concert, providing a full range of services for a SMB, Home Office or Home environment. All of the virtual machines typically run on a single host machine. More hosts can be added for scalability.
Tagcose is independent of any particular virtualization platform. We presently use Proxmox VE. We'll likely have more to say about this as the project matures.
Virtual machines are based on roles, and consist of IPCop (network services), Qmail-Toaster (email), Nginx (web), Openfire (chat), NFS/Samba/Netatalk (file services) et al. The choice of which services to to put into which VMs is fairly flexible, but deserves careful consideration.
History
Host machines have been built using VMware Server2 in the past.
